Show Storage CommandBackground and BC Team Action In March 2007, the BC team initiated the project "Show Storage Command" to help users identify their usage of the three storage areas associated with the $HOME, $ARCHIVE and $WORKDIR environment variables. The project required that each participating center maintain a command called show_storage to produce a default report showing their usage of the three storage areas. Discussions within the BC team and with several members of the DoD HPCMP Storage Initiative team Storage Initiative (SI) team, led the BC team believe that the project "Show Storage Command" was more suited as an SI project since the SI team had plans to implement a command with the same functionality as the show_storage command. Subsequently, the BC team approached the SI team, and by mutual agreement the "Show Storage Command" project was passed on to SI in the first quarter of 2008. |
