UNIX Groups on Each Computer Per AllocationBackground on BC Team Action This request to create a UNIX group on each computer for each allocation was sent by a user to the BC team on January 3, 2008. User pointed out that the Help Desk had been helpful in the past but it would be very helpful if the procedure were automated. Investigation by the BC team revealed that all six participating sites adopted some method for creating UNIX groups. However, the methods adopted by the centers varied from site to site. Thus, to bring commonality across all participating sites may require significant effort from each of the individual sites. Project was referred to pIE (Portal to Information Environment) on April 10, 2008. For further details on the user input and BC team's reply to the user click on additional information. |
