mpi test suite

This policy defines the actions each center will perform with regard to an MPI test suite developed by the PET Computational Environment (CE) team and maintained by the PETTT Advanced Computational Environment (ACE) team.

This policy is limited to the unclassified end user accessible HPC systems and Utility Servers at participating centers.

This test suite is designed to report which optional routines, constants, etc. are not supported by a particular MPI implementation. The test suite is configured as a script that automatically runs the tests and outputs the results. A copy of the test suite and usage documentation will be kept in a directory called "$PET_HOME/MPI_Test_Suite" on each of the unclassified DoD HPCMP resources.

Each center will run this test suite against each current non-beta MPI implementation, using a selected compiler, on each unclassified, end user accessible HPC system and Utility Server. The reports generated by the test suite will be e-mailed to webteam@ccac.hpc.mil for posting on the CCAC Web site.

This test suite will be re-run whenever a) a new machine becomes available; b) a new implementation of MPI is added to a machine, and c) when an existing non-beta MPI implementation is upgraded. It will be the responsibility of the PETTT ACE Team to make revisions to the test suite whenever new machines become available.

Support

The PETTT ACE team maintains this test suite, and is responsible for providing center support. Questions/problems/issues involving the MPI test suite can be addressed to the PETTT ACE team by sending email to pettt_requests@drc.com.
