consistency in number of characters in a project identifier The High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) requires use of a project identifier for individual user projects, known as a project ID. The purpose of this policy is to ensure consistency of format and number of characters for project IDs across all DSRCs. Users will use the appropriate project ID in their PBS job command files with the "A" option, so the Portal for Information Environment (pIE) can provide accounting for project allocations with job runs from any DSRC. Some DSRCs set the "-A" option automatically for their users so a user may not need to set the "-A" option in their PBS job files explicitly. From PBS man page for qsub: -A account_string The High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) refers to a project identifier as the 13-character project ID.
